10 Celeb Couples Who Met On “Saturday Night Live”

You don’t need dating apps when you work at Saturday Night Live.

In a surprising turn of events, Kim Kardashian West and Pete Davidson were spotted holding hands at Knott’s Scary Farm over Halloween weekend. Naturally, people on the internet had a LOT of thoughts about the potential pairing. However, according to People, the pair are just friends.

The hand holding is not the first time Kim and Pete have cozied up together. They shared an onscreen kiss in an “Aladdin” sketch during Kim’s hosting debut on SNL.

It’s not so surprising, however, that fans of Saturday Night Live would jump to conclusions seeing as multiple high profile relationships can be traced back to the show.

So without further ado, here is a list of celebrities who felt sparks with SNL staffers:

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost

Relationship status: Married

Colin Jost recalls meeting Scarlett Johansson when she hosted SNL in 2006, his first year as a writer. However, Scarlett told The Hollywood Reporter she first worked with Colin in a 2010 sketch he wrote called “MTV: Maternity Television.” The pair were first spotted kissing at the SNL season finale afterparty in 2017, got married in 2021, and just welcomed their first child together

Emma Stone and Dave McCary

Relationship status: Married

Emma Stone and SNL writer Dave McCary first met when she hosted the show in 2016. Stone starred in a segment called “Wells for Boys,” which McCary directed. McCary shared the news of their engagement in a sweet post on Instagram in 2019. They welcomed a baby girl in March 2021.

Pete Davidson and Cazzie David

Relationship status: Not together, and had a very public breakup

Pete Davidson and Cazzie David first met in 2015 when Cazzie’s father Larry David hosted SNL. They dated for two years before Pete ended the relationship via text message in 2018. Cazzie wrote about the devastating split in her book, No One Asked for This, but it seems the two are on good terms as Davidson was mentioned by name in the dedication section. “Pete. I love you … Your bravery inspires me and your friendship means the world to me,” David wrote.

Days after breaking up with Cazzie David, Pete began seeing Ariana Grande who he also met on Saturday Night Live in 2016 when she was a musical guest. They had a whirlwind romance, engagement, and extremely public break up within a five month period in 2018

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis met at a SNL afterparty in 2011. Two years later, they were engaged and later welcomed two children together. In 2020, the couple ended their seven year engagement. Olivia began dating Harry Styles in early 2021.

Cecily Strong and her fellow Saturday Night Live costar Mike O’Brien began dating in 2014. Strong was originally hesitant to date a coworker. “But I got the okay from my dad, who is a business professional,” she shared with Cosmopolitan. “It happens.” The pair reportedly ended their relationship in 2015.

Ben Affleck began seeing Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus publicly in 2017 before calling it quits in 2018. Prior to their relationship, Ben was married to Jennifer Garner and Lindsay was married to SNL’s Kevin Miller

Relationship status: Not together, but remained on good terms until Carrie Fisher died in 2016

Dan Aykroyd met Carrie Fisher on Saturday Night Live, but Aykroyd says they fell in love while filming The Blues Brothers. Aykroyd and Fisher were briefly engaged, however she went on to marry musician Paul Simon in 1983 — the same year Aykroyd married Donna Dixon.

Elisabeth Moss and Fred Armisen met in 2008 when Moss made a cameo in a SNL sketch with her Mad Men costar Jon Hamm. After three months of dating, they got engaged, but their marriage lasted less than a year. Moss spoke to Page Six about the divorce saying, “One of the greatest things I heard someone say about him is, ‘He’s so great at doing impersonations. But the greatest impersonation he does is that of a normal person.’ To me, that sums it up.”

Although it’s never been confirmed by the couple, fans speculate they met when Anderson’s former girlfriend, Fiona Apple, performed on Saturday Night Live in 2000. Anderson directed a sketch for the episode titled, “FANatic.” Regardless of when they met, the SNL legend and Oscar nominated director have been together for 16+ years and have four children together.
