The New “Spider-Man: No Way Home” Poster Is Full Of Little Details, And Marvel Fans Spidey Senses Are Tingling

You know, I’m something of a (poster analyzing) scientist myself.

And — as with most massive releases — with fewer days to wait for its premiere comes newer content to entice fans, and that’s just what Marvel gave us this past weekend in the form of a brand new poster! And, y’all — it’s chock-full of Easter Eggs!

Heck, even the movie’s official Twitter account was encouraging fans to use their ~spidey senses~ and look for “details”:

So ICYSMIBYYWTIAM*, Spider-Man: No Way Home has been exciting MCU fans since its inception, as it’s promised to introduce Peter Parker (Tom Holland) to his very own multiverse, and thus feature a lot of beloved characters from all of the OTHER Spider-Man movies of the past.

*”In Case You Somehow Missed It Because You Yourself Were Trapped In A Multiverse” (obviously).

So, there’s a lot to unpack here — let’s start with the most obvious bits first, shall we? Also, emotionally prepare to see this same exact poster, like, five times in a row:

Thanks to the trailer, we already know that the fan fave mad scientist and Fiddler on the Roof singin’ Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) is making a triumphant return, and his metal-octopus-arm-thingys (scientific term) are clear and present in the poster:

Then, in the background, we see the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), whom we also saw a few hints at in the trailer via his on-screen bomb and off-screen laugh:

But fans were quick to point out a couple of other hints at iconic Spidey villains that may NOT have been immediately obvious, like the lightning cutting through the center of the poster — which could be hinting at a cameo for Electro (Jamie Foxx):

As well as what appears to be a very out of place dust storm…or is that a SAND storm?! Could we also be seeing Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) make a comeback?

Now admittedly, with great power comes great need-to-overanalyze-things, and there have also been a couple of — what we call in the business — absolute reaches:

@aAF2P @SpiderManMovie @TomHolland1996 I want you to know, I saw a face too. I’m probably reaching here.

Like, is this an Easter Egg? Is it a face? Is it Ultron? Or is it just our collective terrible eye-sight playing tricks on us? Who’s to say!

Also, completely unrelated, but whoever’s running their social media accounts is doing an A+ job. I’m a big fan. Please give them a raise in exchange for the genuine giggle this marvelously pure response gave me:
